Throughout Sonic's existance there have been many rumors spread around the net about him, his friends, and occasionally SEGA themselves. Here I will address every rumor I know and give my own personal opinion, theory, or otherwise statement regarding said rumor. If you have a problem with what I say on a specific rumor, DON'T whine about it to me and try to enforce your opinion on me. I'm entitled to my opinions and you're entitled to yours. If you have a problem with that then why the heck are you on this page?

SatSR Has A Secret Page Confirming SonAmy

Someone on DA mentioned this. They got it off Wikipedia, of all places. Sadly, this is nothing but a rumor as the supposed page in Sonic and the Secret Rings does not exist to confirm that Amy is Sonic's love interest. Sorry fellow SonAmy fans.

The PS3 Version of "Sonic The Hedgehog" Will Be More Complete

All I can say is that, if it is, SEGA better be planning on making those same updates to the Xbox 360 version, or their going to have a rather large mob of 360 owners and Sonic Fans at their doors.... -The verdict is in, and it's already on sale at our Best Buy, meaning they most likely didn't. Sorry PS3 owners, if they did do any debugging, it probably wasn't enough.

Sonic and Elise Love Each Other

No, just NO! Despite what the game implies I truly don't think SEGA would stoop THAT low....then again maybe they would but the point is, Sonic and Elise don't "love" each other. They just have an attraction towards each other, but in no way do they love each other, that's just wrong, man!

Silver Is A Finished Form of Nazo/He IS Nazo

This too has been stated in places around the Sonic Communities, but you know, we can't see Nazo's image clearly but when I examined their individual images I noticed a slight resemblance in some areas but it wasn't enough to support the claim. But all the same the issue addresses a very interesting possibility. Maybe SEGA found that scraped image from the Sonic X trailer and that's where they started Silver's character design from and then slapped him with telekenetic powers. No one knows except SEGA.

Silver Is Sonic/Shadow's Future Son

I've heard this debated on many Sonic forums across the net and I've developed my own personal in-take on it. People, across various Sonic forums, have claimed, fought, and insisted that Silver (the new guy in Sonic 2006) is a future son of Shadow or Sonic (people have also debated which one it could be but that's an entirely different story). Now, I've thought about this long and hard, stared at Silver's image next to both Sonic and Shadow for long periods of time, and analysed the little we know of Silver's personality and compared it to Sonic and Shadow, and I have come up with a reasonable explination. Truthfully, SEGA isn't the type of company that would make characters related to each other (apart from Nick and Nack who are both dead)so Silver couldn't be related to either. Another reason is that when examining their photos Silver looks nothing like them (apart from being a hedgehog). The only thing of him that resembles Shadow is his chest fur and amber eyes but resemblance stops there. He does not resemble Sonic apart from having a similar build(but hey, Shadow does too). Plus, as mentioned on many forums, no son of Sonic would be as slow as Silver or attackless as he is. True, the speed thing could be just a thing of genetics, but that doesn't prove his attacklessness. Simply put, Silver is just a hedgehog from the future who has a mission to stop Sonic but he isn't related to Sonic. Also, as explained within the game itself, Silver's generation is more than 200 years later than Sonic and Shadow's. Sure, Shadow is supposed to be immortal, but I doubt he'd still be around in 200 years. Connected somehow, possibly. Related by blood, no.

Sonic Is For People 10 and Under

Ah, one of the biggest rumors I hear from people when they learn I love Sonic. Probably one of the biggest rumors you hear among Sonic haters or people who, in my case, don't even know what the term "Anime" means too. If you're someone who goes to my school (and I know a few people who view this site do go to my school) do know that Sonic is NOT for kids 10 years of age or younger. My brother is 22 and he still likes Sonic just as he did when he was my age and when I was little. If you believe Sonic is for little kids who don't know the difference between their left from their right then you seriously need to wake up and smell the coffee. There are many people in the world who are 20 years old and older who are BIG fans of Sonic! And before you can say "Well, they're retarded." let me tell you that all of them are highly intelligable adults who have very successful jobs. So before you go dissing off Sonic as being a kiddy thing maybe you should check the real facts instead of creating the illusion that what you think about it is right.

Sonic Is Gay

Many Sonic Fans say this too although they're mainly sometimes the ones who don't have Sonic as they're most favorite character. Sonic is in no way, shape, or form "gay". The fact his best friend happens to be 5-6 years younger than him DOESN'T make him gay. Two good friends of mine happen to be the ages of 6 and 7. Does that make me gay? No. It doesn't. And for the little hentai lovers who accuse Sonic of being gay because he runs from Amy whenever she's coming toward him it's not because he's rejecting her. He's just afraid of commitment, any real fan knows that. And personally if you had a hyper 12 year old jumping on you and hugging you 24/7 you'd be pretty much scared too, ne? For those of you who really don't know the series of Sonic all that well and got into it around the time SA2 came out you would know that the level music for City Escape (Sonic's first stage in that game) is NOT his actual theme music! "It Doesn't Matter" is his OFFICIAL SEGA given theme song! Besides, whoever made that song probably made it before gay people claimed purple and rainbows as their colors therefore probably meaning something ENTIRELY different with the "gotta follow my rainbow" thing in Escape From The City. Also for hentai lovers, Sonic is not the kind of person who goes up and randomly feels people. That's just sick and wrong. Hence, since he doesn't do it because you think he should it doesn't make him gay!

Nazo Is A New Sonic Character To Appear In Sonic X

This rumor has been around for nearly 2 years now. Ever since Sonic X started airing in Japan people claimed the mysterious glowing hedgehog that appeared at the end of a promo trailer for Sonic X was a new character. This thing, according to people who first managed to see the image, looked like a cross between Sonic and Shadow with a little Super Sonic on the side. Also said of this mysterious character was that it was file named "Nazo" when the person or persons first got it, therefore making a lot of people around lots of Sonic Communities think the character's name was Nazo. This is NOT true! "Nazo" is japanese for "mystery" or "strange". If you looked closely at the picture you would've noticed that it also looks like a slightly altered form of Super Sonic. There were some people who even speculated he might be Hyper Sonic or even Ultra Sonic. Maybe he was a early picture design of Super Sonic before the creators scraped it. We don't know. What we can tell you is that Nazo is not a new character. We're certain of that. There was even a small group of people who speculated Nazo could be Sonic's father. Which made for a very funny piece of dialouge similar to Star Wars with a slight twist at the end from one person(posted below). But my main point is that Nazo isn't a new character. He's most likely Hyper Sonic though whether he'll appear in Sonic X only time will tell.

Tails Is A Girl

Not true! Not true! Not true! NOT TRUE! Tails has and NEVER will be a girl! NEVER EVER EVER! Every game manual every official site says that he's a HE. Say it with me "HE" NOT "SHE". There have been many people since 1992 that have said Tails is a girl, just because he acts a little like it and in some cases is even voiced by one. He's 10 years old! In the early games and early TV shows they credited him as being 8. A lot of kids around those ages that are male tend to act a little babyish or in a way "girly". They grow out of it just as Tails will whenever Sonic Team makes him a few years older (the characters have aged themselves over the years, Amy did as did Tails). Never will he be a girl, no matter what you say or do.

Sonic R Is Cursed

If you're dumb enough to believe this rumor you seriously need to be slapped right now. But nevertheless I'll put this one here. Sonic R is not cursed. That was just a random "horror" story about the Tails Doll that someone made up. You're not going to die from playing Sonic R. If you wanna know something that is cursed, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT'S CURSED! Sudoku is cursed!

Shadow Is A Copy of Sonic

Said many many times ever since the whole "faker" thing started in SA2. Mainly said by Shadow haters too. Whether this is true or not we may never know. It's true that in SA2 Shadow and Sonic called each other the "faker" of the other. That's mainly because the government mistook Shadow for Sonic. Though how someone can be THAT color blind is beyond me. Nevertheless, Shadow isn't a copy of Sonic. Sure, they're both hedgehogs. Doesn't mean they're copies of each other. Amy's a hedgehog too, does that make her a copy of Sonic? No, it doesn't. However, as far as character design goes, this could very well be true. You have to remember that Sonic team creates characters based on gameplay needs, not based on the plot.
